Nodal Markets Risks and Texas Electricity at Cheap Prices

Texas nodal energy systemThe nodal market is a new electric grid model that involves hundreds of pricing points throughout the state of Texas ERCOT electric grid.

The nodal market takes a complex network of natural gas power plants and other electric power generation facilities and connects them in such a way to allow for maximum efficiency in meeting energy demand based on the area demanding that energy.

By turning on the needed power plant closest to the source of demand it creates less problems with line losses and brings responsibility for meeting the supply nearer the populations demanding it.

The model risk that electricity companies face is directly related with the nodal market and the nodal system is what offers a solution to risk factors common to electric grid operators, natural gas pipeline companies and participants, generation facilities, and even the electricity companies that sell this energy as retail electricity.

For instance, a company that is a natural gas distributor in Texas has developed a complex model to forecast hourly energy demand during winter months in Houston and Dallas Texas. A closely linked power plant uses this same data to forecast demand for their facility.

A part of the model is an input called population. The population of the area of Houston Texas is put in the model as 2,257,926 in 2009 and again is put in the model for 2011 as 2,257,926 without considering a population decline for this year and future years.

The population for the area has declined for the last 2 years and is expected to decline in the future. Due to an incorrect estimate of winter energy demand the power plant buys more natural gas from the natural gas pipeline operator then it needs to create the electricity needed to meet the demand.

The model failed to consider the declining population in Houston and because of this they have way more natural gas than they need to create the needed power. If the model correctly predicted the Houston population decline the power plant facility would not be losing money but would be profitable.

In turn the retail electricity providers buying power from these power plant would be able to buy it cheaper had the power plant not incurred the added expenses due to not forecasting the population of Houston TX correctly.

The power plant must then unload the price they paid for natural gas back in the market at a cheaper price than they paid for it. The power plant very likely may have to shutdown for a time when they expected to remain online because of bad data in their model.

The nodal market assists in making issues like these go away because the power plants closest to Houston TX are creating energy for this area and the pricing is situated locally in very specific points.

The power plant is much more likely to spend more time forecasting and understanding the places nearest to them when creating their forecasts because they are pricing and selling energy to go to the city of Houston and suburban areas around Houston.

More effciencies and considerations will be used when on the nodal system and will have a favorable result in creating power through natural gas which is used during peak electricity demand periods in cities throughout Texas.

Cheap Dallas TX Electricity Rates

Dallas TX Cheap Electricity RatesWhen finding an electricity company in Dallas TX you should compare fixed electricity rates from multiple electric providers.

It is really not worth it for most people to compare variable electric rates against each other from several different companies because there is no guarantee from one provider to another on how that rate will change from month to month.

One variable rate may go down on the 2nd month while another goes up and you will have no way to guess on which electricity company will be the one that raises their rate and which will choose to lower it.

It is true that most variable rate prices in Dallas TX follow an energy commodity market and or spot market price.

Even those variable electricity rates that follow a market may also follow the whim of the electricity company.

Somewhere in the terms of service of your Dallas TX electricity rate agreement will allow the provider to change your cheap electricity rate into as expensive of a price as they decide to do.

For instance, if an electricity supplier gets in a bind because they did not forecast electricity prices accurately when buying and hedging their energy they can honor the rate for all their fixed contract customers because they have to but for all their variable rate customers they can jack up the price.

Since variable electricity rate customers are not promised price assurance or predictability even though your rate may look good for several months the provider always has you in their back pocket if they ever need to recover some losses.

These electricity companies in Dallas will simply raise your variable price high enough so that they recoup any losses due to mistakes they made in how they bought energy or how they fore-casted demand for their product in their specific model.

You do have a better choice simply by comparing fixed electricity rate offers in Dallas TX.  The fixed rate plans can be anywhere from 6 months to 48 months with different electric suppliers. Type in your zip code in the box at the top right and click on compare to get started.

Many consulting companies work with only 1 or 2 companies and so you can’t trust or go with this type of company as they are nothing more than outsourced sales. We recommend asking the consulting company exactly why the providers they use are as good as they claim they are.

Our lawyers go through energy contracts to look for pricing schemes. They also make sure the companies are not known for sneaking things by on their customers. You can find out a bad reputation on a retail electric provider as well simply by searching for that company online and reading customer reviews.

Texas Electricity Energy Power Grab by EPA

Texas Power Grab EPATexas has the 2nd largest workforce and gross state product in the USA, produces more electricity than in any of the other state, and refines about 1/4th of America’s petroleum. For a country that is 85% dependent on on fossil fuels shouldn’t the EPA be coming to Texas to say thank you?

Well okay, go ahead and make Texas pay for supposed global warming emissions and pollution problems and lets see how that affects the rest of the USA.

The reason the EPA is sending federal agents to Texas to police and arrest those responsible for polluting and emitting carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere is because the EPA believes in line with global warming scientists that these are greenhouse gases that cause runaway global warming.

Now I can understand if Texas could do more to prevent pollution and acid rain why the EPA would be here to crack down on bad air quality for our citizens but in the name of global warming?

If you are a bright young home schooler or listened to your teacher in 8th grade you likely know already that CO2 is the plant-fertilizing gas of life and CH4 is simply cow farts and natural gas. The scientists have determined that carbon dioxide is 0.0387% of the Earth’s atmosphere and methane is 0.000179 percent.

When CH4 heats our Texas homes, generates electricity power, fuels our cars and manufacturing facilities, and makes things like good medical facilities, state welfare, and quality living and lifestyle available in our state we see the positive results of what the EPA considers a crime.

So what is the crime? Are we creating acid rain and bad breathing quality? That type of pollution would indeed need a crack down and I would be all for it within common sense realms of ability. Smaller Texas towns rely upon Houston and Dallas as our economic hubs and a trade off is a more densely populated area, more power plants, more cars, and more pollution. There will always be some level of pollution and some need for environmental protection but global warming issues?

Why not focus on less quasi-science political things such as acid rain and air quality that we know effects human health?

Instead the EPA wants to make a huge deal over the gas of life and cow farts. The global warming professor believes that global warming would unleash so much heat that the earth will one day be unrecognizable from its current atmospheric and topographical makeup.

These global warming predictions for our earth are based on computer models that assume CO2 and CH4 control our climate and even a small micro change in them from human activity will create devastating catastrophic changes to the planet.

The EPA claim is that by regulating places like Texas the average global temperature will never go over 2 degrees higher than what we experience right now. Wow, quite a prediction but somehow I think she is making some of this crap up.

Mrs. Jackson ignores that energy prices not only in Texas but also elsewhere will be greatly effected by global warming regulations in the state of Texas. The EPA regulations will have a huge impact on jobs, state revenues, peoples health, and on our own lives.

Additional support for what Mrs. Jackson believes are also supported by scientists Dr. Richard Alley, and Michael Mann at Pennsylvania State University. These scientists are paid by the government to raise these global warming alarms to the public’s attention. News agencies love to create stories around these alarms because they offer dramatic attention grabbing headlines.

The real news story is that man has been emitting gas of life and cow farts since we were put here on earth. A contrasting opinion as stated by MIT’s Dr. Richard Lindzen is that we are 80% of the way towards doubling the greenhouse gas levels that have been found in our atmosphere at the start of the industrial revolution (0.0280%). When we take a look at Dr. Alley’s computer models and the doomsday predictions that are all to common in this pseudo science, 80% would mean Texas temperatures should have warmed some 14 to 16 degrees between 1860 and 2010.

That would be very hot but this is not the case and these types of predictions and data in the global warming science community never line up. Take for instance the report about glaciers and polar ice caps melting away in only a few years that was reported 2 years ago and backed up by the head of the global warming scientists. This never happened and continues to show itself to be an elaborate hoax that was promoted by many liberal news agencies and global warming scientists who get paid to create these reports.

The national climate data center studies show Texas’ annual mean temperature fluctuates from year to year but on average has been been between 65 – 71 degrees F from 1895 through 2010. Unfortunately we do not have good data prior to 1895. This shows a change of 6 degrees both up and down with no two years giving us identical weather patterns for over 110 years.

My question is where are the additional 10 to 12 degrees of global warming in Texas? Professor Alley believes these worse case scenarios are happening now but I am not seeing them. What hand picked data and from what scientists were used to convince Professor Alley of Texas’  impact on global warming?

Professor Mann and Penn Sate received millions of dollars from us taxpayers to create these disaster scenarios. A close scientist friend of theirs created a science report which concluded that dinosaur farts created global warming 70 million years ago. Many of these scientists are smart but do you not think that scientists are susceptible to money, power, and fame the same as you and me?

There are good scientists and then there are those scientists that get into their positions simply because they were pot smoking career students that never wanted the alternative to school which would mean a hard working job in the real world. Decades later these scientists are used to taking money from the government and creating government reports on things like 70 million year out global warming models and other disaster scenarios. When the science and predictions are proved false the lunacy continues with no questions as to these peoples intentions.

In regards to crazy weather patterns in Texas which would fit in the new name change known as “global climate change” we have had less and less severe weather like tornadoes, hurricanes, hail, dust storms since the 1950’s according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

This NOAA data is the opposite of what the professor, Al Gore, and other climate scientists say is supposed to happen?

The global climate science regulations imposed by the EPA have their place in increasing government run university paychecks and science fiction films about weather but we see no place for the EPA enforcing this political nonsense on Texas.

The alarmists need to move their computer models, scare tactics, and climate police out of Texas and leave our electricity rates, energy prices, jobs and health alone.
